As of Feb 2024, we've planted 480 trees in total, 240 in the Andes, and 240 in Ontario, Canada. We've partnered with One Tree Planted, an non-profit, to plant one tree for each piece of furniture we produce. We want to ensure that we give back more trees than we used for our products.
At Otelier, while we love working with wood for our furniture - especially those from sustainably managed forests - we recognize that trees are a precious and limited natural resource. One oak tree, for example, takes about 50 years to grow before it is felled for lumber. By replanting trees, we hope to ensure the our forests stay intact for future generations to enjoy, habitats to flourish, and forest communities to thrive.
